Seems like it can be a good site for finding local businesses. I typed in pizza into the search and a Chinese restaurant showed up in the results so not sure what happened there. We found our own data and store it in an xml page because the information we got from every site was incomplete especially google searches. To get our info we had to use the yellow pages, yahoo, google and then if there was a franchise website we found more locations on their site. By typing in pizza there should have been about 30 markers popping up. Not all of the businesses displayed on the side seem to have a marker. More info is better so maybe you can add tabs to the infowindows to display different types of info so that the user doesn't have to leave your site to get the information about the places that show up on the side.
