EventMaps:
I would just like to start off by saying that you all have done a wonderful job to this point in the class, and iteration 2 is no different.
I especially like the new lay out of the site, I think it is much more professional looking. I also like the pop-up box you have within your project that displays the results of the query (I will comment on this in a bit, however).
I do have a few constructive criticisms for your project. They are as follows:
1. I think the site would be more effective if the user were able to close the search results box. I think you mentioned during your presentation that you would like to do something like this, and I think that it would be a good idea. As I mentioned above, it is a vast improvement over your first iteration, but I think that it would be nice to be able to close that window, and just browse the entire map and find all of the events that are taking place (within the given search criteria) without anything blocking the map.
2. When I put in the following information: "Category: Music," "Location: Ypsilanti, MI," "Radius: 5 miles," and "Date: Future," one of the results displayed were for "E.M.U. Jazz/Poetry Ensembles," the results were not displayed in the map. You get the standard Google API error that "We are sorry, but we don't have maps at this zoom level for this region. Try zooming out for a broader look." When I zoomed all the way out, the location for this activity was in ANTARCTICA. I am not sure if there is anything you can do about this, but I thought I would tell you none-the-less.
These are just a couple of things that I noticed, and by no means do you have to implement them. I just thought they might make your project a bit more user friendly.
Keep up the good work!
